Roasted Golden Hen

This beautiful roasted golden hen is an exciting take on the traditional Thanksgiving main course.

  • 1 4-5 pound roasting hen
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup Nature Nate’s Raw & Unfiltered Honey
  • 4 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons cider vinegar
  • 1 lemon
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 cup parsley, chopped

Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Rinse chicken and place in roasting pan. Cut the lemon in half. Squeeze juice all over the chicken. Place rinds inside cavity. Whisk together remaining ingredients, except parsley. Spoon several tablespoon over entire bird. Place a lid or foil over the chicken. Roast for 2 1/2-3 hours. Baste often with honey mixture. Sprinkle chopped parsley on top. Serve with roasted vegetables and rice. Serves 4-6.
