Roasted Golden Hen

This beautiful Roasted Golden Hen is an exciting take on the traditional Thanksgiving main course.

  • 4-5 lb roasting hen
  • 1 lemon
  • ⅓ cup soy sauce
  • ⅓ cup Nate’s 100% Pure Honey
  • 4 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 Tbsp cider vinegar
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • ½ cup parsley, chopped

Preheat oven to 300°F. Rinse chicken and place in roasting pan.

Cut the lemon in half. Squeeze juice all over the chicken. Place rinds inside cavity.

Whisk together remaining ingredients, except parsley. Spoon several tablespoons over entire bird. Place a lid or foil over the chicken. Roast for 2½-3 hours. Baste often with honey mixture.

To serve, sprinkle chopped parsley on top. Tastes great with roasted vegetables and rice on the side.
