NATURE NATE’S HONEY CO. MAKES INVESTMENT TO BEE HEALTH AND RESEARCH AT CORNELL UNIVERSITY

The number-one branded honey company continues partnership with Cornell University during National Honey Month this September

MCKINNEY, TEXAS – September 22, 2020 – In honor of National Honey Month, Nate’s Honey Co., the number-one branded honey company in the U.S. and producer of 100% pure, raw & unfiltered honey, today announces its investment in the Department of Entomology at Cornell University. The donation will go toward honeybee health research that is being undertaken by the department.

“It’s all about the bees – that’s why we continue to support the essential research done by the Entomology Department at Cornell University,” said Nathan Sheets, President and CEO of Nature Nate’s. “To us, education is the key to finding a solution to the bee population issues and ensuring the health of bee colonies across the world. We are honored to work alongside this team of incredible researchers to make a positive impact on the future of bee health.”

The Department of Entomology, part of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) at Cornell, has many programs that support the research of honeybee health under its Pollinator Network. The Pollinator Network is a multidisciplinary group of researchers, extension personnel, and students that collectively work to understand wild and managed pollinators across the world. The Pollinator Network is a leader in bee research and prioritizes working closely with U.S. beekeepers to address real-world problems.

“It’s clear that Nature Nate’s Honey Co. cares about bee health and beekeepers. Their support helps us continue our work to understand the role that pesticides, parasites, diseases, and beekeeping practices play in colony losses and productivity,” said Emma Walters, Senior Honey Bee Extension Associate, Cornell University. “Beekeepers truly appreciate this research, because it means they can incorporate evidence-based practices into their own operations, and it is rewarding for us to see them become more sustainable.”

The partnership is part of the Nature Nate’s Long Live the Bees corporate responsibility initiative to support honeybee health, educate future generations, and advocate for responsible and sustainable beekeeping practices. In addition, Nature Nate’s supports honeybee health programs at other leading universities across the U.S.
