We sat down with Braxton Stein, IT Developer extraordinaire, to hear what it looks like to serve on such a unique team within the Nate’s family.

Q: How would you describe your role on the Nate’s team?

A:  For the IT department, our primary role is to support each and every team member in the Nate’s family. When issues arise with our software or hardware applications, our goal is to resolve those issues as easily and efficiently as possible. With a team of only three, we thrive on wearing many hats and leaning on each other’s strengths to trouble shoot complex problems. It really is a team effort, and I love that about us.

Q: As a company, we strive to be leaders in educating consumers on why choosing raw and unfiltered honey over processed sugar is important as well as setting the highest quality standards in our field. What strides do you see us making to ensure both of these goals are met?

A: It’s amazing to see the drive Nathan has to put the best honey product on every table across the country. Our Marketing team does a great job explaining the benefits of 100% pure honey and how it can positively impact each individual and their family. In addition to that, the IT team works alongside the Innovation and Quality Assurance teams to specify which honey should be purchased from beekeepers and the purity grade of that honey. Data is a powerful resource, and we want to provide information that ensures the highest quality honey is moving from hive to bottle.

Q: The Nate’s family implements a set of core values called the Bee Attitudes. Is there a specific attitude you strive to implement?

A:   Bee-passionate comes to mind first. I think of this through the lens of humility. For me, I personally believe that God is always guiding us in many of the things we are passionate about and pursue. I believe our success, and my success, is rooted in the understanding that God is in charge. God gets to lead. One of the things I respect most about this company is that the team as a whole genuinely walks with a sense of humility. It starts at the top with Nathan and filters its way down through the teams. When you realize that God can do big things through people who trust and walk with him, it keeps you humble and passionate.

Q: Nathan has stated, “This company is driven by more than the bottom line — we measure success not just by what we achieve, but also by what we contribute.” How do you see this play out not only in your role on the team but also in the life of the company?

A: I see this lived out both internally and externally at Nate’s. Internally, I watch people give back to each other in ways that are uncommon in most companies. They serve. They give. They look out for each other, because we are a family. The Bee-Attitudes are a driving force behind this, because they challenge us to push the envelope in how we see and treat others. It’s a mentality that’s contagious and showcases the heart of who we are. Externally, I see this play out in how we love and serve the community through our Honey Gives Hope giving program. It’s a way we share the many blessings we’ve been given with others. We are unique in how we give, and I am happy to serve at a company like this.

Q: What is something you want people to know about Nate’s that they might not know from just looking at our orange label?

A: The quality of Nate’s honey can’t be tasted by just looking at the bottle on the shelf. The quality of this honey is absolutely incredible. Before I started working at Nate’s, I didn’t fully understand how different honey could taste from bottle to bottle. I was blown away when I learned how different Nate’s purity and taste are in comparison to other honey brands.

I would also want people to know that the person you see on the bottle, Nathan “Nature Nate” Sheets, is a real person who knows the people that have put the honey into the bottle and he knows the rigorous testing that went into making our honey the best product on the market. The story behind each bottle is truly worth sharing.
