Sweet Harvest Foods and Nate’s Support Local Minnesota Food Banks
Financial donations were made to 360 Communities and The Open Door to celebrate the opening of Sweet Harvest Foods’ new company headquarters and distribution center in Lakeville, Minn.
LAKEVILLE, MINN. – June 26, 2024 – Sweet Harvest Foods, the leader in the U.S. natural sweetener industry, and Nature Nate’s Honey Co. (Nate’s), the number-one branded honey company in the U.S., are providing financial donations to two Minnesota-based non-profits: 360 Communities and The Open Door. With the mission to support families and kids in the local Lakeville community, the donations celebrate the opening of Sweet Harvest Foods’ new headquarters and distribution center this month.
“At Sweet Harvest Foods, we are proud to invest in the local communities where we work and live,” said Mike Carle, President & Chief Financial Officer of Sweet Harvest Foods. “It’s an honor to support 360 Communities and The Open Door, as both organizations serve a critical and important role in helping families and kids in Dakota County.”
With effective and holistic programming, 360 Communities leverages community partnerships and trusted relationships to break cycles of violence and poverty in Dakota County. In 2023, the organization increased safety and stability for more than 17,000 individuals and delivered 1.7 million pounds of food across their network of food shelves and resource centers.
“We are grateful to Sweet Harvest Foods for their investment in the local community and commitment to supporting safety and stability in Dakota County,” said Marina Rossman, Annual Fund Manager of 360 Communities.
The Open Door is a hunger relief organization dedicated to ending local hunger through access to healthy food. Through its collective programs, The Open Door serves more than 18,000 Dakota County residents each month and distributes more than 3 million pounds of food annually, 70 percent of which is fresh and/or perishable.
“We are grateful to have Sweet Harvest Foods as a partner in our efforts to help families here in Lakeville and across Dakota County,” said Jason Viana, Executive Director of The Open Door, the Eagan-based nonprofit. “Their support will help our volunteers deliver more than 10,000 meals to Lakeville students this summer, and we couldn’t be more excited.”
With its corporate giving program, Sweet Harvest Foods supports local organizations, including food banks, schools and other non-profits. Earlier this year, Sweet Harvest Foods provided an art grant to benefit the art department at Cannon Falls High School. Nate’s Honey Gives Hope program supports families and individuals and helps communities across the U.S. through long-standing partnerships and demand-based response initiatives.
