Smoked Salmon Toast
Traditional bagels and lox are made new again with this must-try sweet and savory Smoked Salmon Toast. A slice of your favorite artisan bread is the foundation for all of the best toppings: honey cream cheese, sliced salmon, onion and salt and pepper. Finish off with an extra drizzle of honey for added sweetness. If you are feeling extra, swap the toast for crostini and serve as an elegant and effortless appetizer.

Ingredients
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 Tbsp Nate’s 100% Pure Honey, plus more for topping
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- 1 Tbsp lemon juice
- 1 Tbsp chives, finely chopped
- 2 Tbsp capers, roughly chopped
- 1 tsp salt
- ¼ tsp pepper
- 2 large pieces or 4 small pieces bread
- 4 oz smoked salmon (about 2 slices per slice of bread)
- ¼ red onion, thinly sliced
- Salt and pepper, for topping
Directions
Whip together the cream cheese, honey, lemon zest and juice, chives, capers, salt and pepper.
Toast your bread slices, then spread the cream cheese mixture over each slice.
Top each slice with sliced salmon, a few slices of onion, and a sprinkle of salt and pepper to taste. Drizzle more honey on top to finish.
