Honey Herb Turkey Brine

Nothing says a holiday meal like a roasted turkey, and brining it with our favorite ingredient (uh-hem, pure honey) means you'll share a flavorful entrée worthy of your holiday table.

  • 1 gallon warm water
  • 1 cup Nature Nate’s pure honey
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup Kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon fresh sage
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 fresh turkey
  • 1/2 cup butter

Place all ingredients but turkey and butter in a large, deep bowl. Whisk until all ingredients are well-incorporated. Place turkey in the bowl, making sure it is fully immersed. If the liquid does not cover the entire bird, make another batch of brine and add it.

Cover and refrigerate for two hours. Rotate the bird in the bowl and refrigerate for two more hours. This process ensures even brining. The turkey can remain in the brine for up to six hours.

When ready to roast, remove the turkey from the brine and rinse it well. Place in a roasting pan and follow instructions appropriate to the size of the turkey, basting with melted butter every thirty minutes.
