Ingredients
- 1 gallon warm water
- 1 cup Nate’s 100% Pure Honey
- ½ cup soy sauce
- ½ cup kosher salt
- 1 Tbsp fresh rosemary
- 1 Tbsp fresh parsley
- 1 Tbsp fresh sage
- 1 Tbsp fresh thyme
- 1 Tbsp onion powder
- 1 fresh turkey
- ½ cup butter
Directions
Place all ingredients but turkey and butter in a large, deep bowl. Whisk until all ingredients are well-incorporated. Place turkey in the bowl, making sure it is fully immersed. If the liquid does not cover the entire turkey, make another batch of brine and add it.
Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours. Rotate the bird in the bowl and refrigerate for 2 more hours. This process ensures even brining. The turkey can remain in the brine for up to 6 hours.
When ready to roast, remove the turkey from the brine and rinse it well. Place in a roasting pan and follow instructions appropriate to the size of the turkey, basting with melted butter every 30 minutes.
