From the Farm:

Generosity. Passion. Heart.

At Nature Nate’s Honey Co., we know that the people behind our iconic orange label are the heart of our company. Without them, our mission to bring the highest quality honey to your table just wouldn’t be possible. That’s why we’re so excited to introduce you to one of our most dedicated, passionate, and generous team members.

Meet Jose, Processing Manager at Nature Nate’s Honey Co.

Q: How would you describe your role on the Nature Nate’s team?

I’m a team leader for the processing team. We know bees make the honey, but our team gently blends the honey, so every bottle tastes like the delicious Nature Nate’s Honey we know and love.

As you can imagine, the processing team is connected to every department within the company, so it’s important for me to be very involved with every team member. I strive to be a role model to the employees on my team and adhere to the high standards we’ve set for ourselves both personally and professionally.

Q: As a company, we strive to be leaders, whether in honey, on our team, or in our community. How do you see yourself contributing to these high standards?

To be a great leader, I believe you need to establish a bond with each individual you work with. I collaborate daily with team leads and discuss ways to ensure our employees find success in balancing our work load with their busy home lives. Creating a healthy workplace culture is such an important part of my job. Each morning I lead a daily huddle with all of our team members to discuss daily objectives and create a place where everyone can ask questions to ensure we are aligned. Although each team member comes with their own experiences and responsibilities, I encourage everyone on my team to act as a leader, not a follower. Together, if we act as a group of leaders, we can help outside of our department and make our business even stronger.

Q: The Nature Nate’s family implements a set of core values called the Bee Attitudes. Is there a specific attitude you strive to implement?

Bee Generous, followed by Bee Passionate. In our Bee Attitudes, it states: “Generosity is an opportunity to go beyond what’s expected and give distinctly from the heart.” I love this statement, because I aim to always help our fellow men and women. I’ve seen some personal struggles from some of my team members this last year, and I’ve done my best to help in any way that I can.

In our Bee Passionate statement, it says that “we care about what we do from the heart,” and I’m very passionate about the work I put in every day. Whether it’s double-checking that our equipment is operating efficiently or ensuring our team members have the tools they need to get the job done, I push for a “better than” status for our facility and team and that’s made all the difference.

Q: What is something you want people to know about Nature Nate’s that they might not know from just looking at our orange label?

At Nature Nate’s, family comes first. We are very passionate about honey and doing our jobs well, but the way we take care of our people is something more people should know about. We would never abandon a man or woman in need. It’s amazing to see how everyone comes together to support, uplift, and care for our employees and their families. This is why I love my job and the people that I get to work with every day.
